Bumbley - A Mother-Daughter Project
Bumbley is a family-owned and operated website, rooted in the artistic town of Saugatuck, Michigan—a place where creativity lives by the water and inspiration drifts in with the breeze.
We’re a family of weavers, painters, designers, dancers, and dreamers. Marcia (Mimi) weaves each piece with care on her floor loom. John (Pa) paints vivid, imaginative worlds and has long welcomed visitors into his gallery in nearby Douglas. Hillary is a video artist and master of all things Shopify. And Hannah, a dancer turned full-time mom, brings her creative spirit to our marketing and storytelling.
Bumbley is our way of sharing the beauty we find in handcrafted things—objects made with skill, soul, and a human touch. We seek out artists and craftspeople who pour their hearts into their work, with a special love for American-made art, jewelry, and functional craft.
When you shop here, you're not just buying something beautiful. You're supporting a community of makers—including us. And for that, we’re truly grateful.

John and Marcia - the Artists behind Bumbley
Bumbley is rooted in a love for handmade things—and that love began at home. Our founder Marcia is a skilled weaver, creating timeless textiles on her floor loom, while her husband John brings imagination to life through his vivid digital paintings. We're proud to share their work with you below.

Marcia Leben is a handweaver who works on a traditional floor loom in her Saugatuck, Michigan studio. Using natural fibers and earthy, soothing palettes, she creates scarves, towels, and textiles that are both functional and beautiful. Her weaving is slow, intentional, and deeply rooted in tradition—each piece made to bring a sense of calm, texture, and quiet beauty to everyday life.

John Leben is a digital painter whose work blurs the line between reality and imagination. Drawing inspiration from nature, surrealism, and storytelling, his art features dreamlike landscapes filled with unexpected details and layered textures. Created in his Saugatuck studio, John’s prints are bold, colorful, and thought-provoking—inviting the viewer to step into another world, one scene at a time.
